What a save! Determination at Rolex

In the last two years I've cried (well, gotten all teared up) at least once during the cross country rides at Rolex. And not at the falls, but at moments like these...

Like the video of Ink that I posted a few days ago, you can really see the determination and courage of the horses and riders. The horse, Arthur, wanted to get to the next fence, his rider wasn't directing him there. What a good boy!

  3. It's grease - helps them slide over a fence if they hit it at all.

Great video, I love horses like that!

the white stuff is a type of grease. . sort of like what you see boxers use on their faces during a match.

  7. Wow. He really saved her bacon, didn't he? What a great horse. And, those types of things get to me, too. Heck, I can't even watch a high school drill team perform without crying!

  8. Horses like that are worth their weight in gold. What an awesome boy! He'd be getting lots of carrots and extra grain that night if he were my horse. lol

  10. My first horse, Russell R. would have kept going like that. He was the only reason I keep jumping for as many years as I did. He just had that "attitude" of "show me the jump and I'll go over." Haven't had a horse like him since.

These top level eventers are really, really special animals.
