WEG commercials: Well done!

These are very cute! Make me wish I was going! My favorite is the one with the couch...

  1. Very clever! I agree, the couch one is the best. Glad to see there is publicity. Far too often the non-horse world has no idea what's going on.

  2. Is there any information about the WEG being televised?

  3. Can anyone explain to me why Kristine Oakhurst, one of the winners of the Live From Lexington blog contest, has only written two actual WEG-related posts since winning the contest?!? In the meantime, Nina Ackerley has posted numerous times with interesting commentary and insightful reporting. What a shame that Oakhurst doesn't feel the need to blog. Ugh.

  4. Hi, I have my own opinions about the Purina blog contest (that have nothing to do with my own unsuccessful bid for the job :-). Such a great company, such a great event, and yet... There's something missing from the blogs.

Oh, and Anonymous posters with controversial opinions -- consider dropping the cloak of anonymity and standing behind your statements. It makes life much more interesting!

  5. I love the commercials! As an eventer, the couch one is my favorite, but I do like the office/vaulting one too. Very funny!

  6. I would consider dropping the anonymity, Stacey, but Oakhurst has a well-developed reputation for shredding people she considers "enemies" on her blog. My conflict resolution style tends toward avoidance. I saw how she savaged Sheri after the contest ended. It wasn't pretty. I've posted using my name on other controversial topics, but I don't want to give a bully a target, if you know what I mean. It still fries my shorts, though, to see how little Oakhurst seems to care about the blogging job. (Thanks, btw, for giving my anon comment a pass. I know your standards for online discourse are high, so I do appreciate the chance to speak out.)

  7. Yeah, she posted something rude but even her followers called her on it. If you believe in what you're saying you'll stand behind it consequences be damned. It just isn't becoming to slam someone anonymously IMHO...

  8. Great ads. Wish the publicity extended outside Kentucky. NBC sports is supposed to cover WEG, but who knows at what inconvenient hour.
