Ashley Holzer and Pop Art: New freestyle (wish I'd thought of it)

I might not have picked exactly the same music but the idea is great -- how many times have you listened to the radio and imagined a piaffe-passage tour?

  1. I loved watching this pair at WEG. Her smile is so contagious.

  2. What fun! This is where the musical kur needs to go! This is one of the rare times when the music and gaits are nearly perfect. There might be some choreography improvements that could be made, but overall a very clever ride and certainly one that shows off Pop Art's strength with rhythmic piaffe/passage tours.

And the sense of humor and originality! Nifty!!

  4. This was awesome! I personally love the idea of using something more modern. I know people who have done some routines to similar songs, and I personally enjoy ride along to my Ipod(Although I tend not to listen to pop music) Such a fun idea! Thanks for posting.

  5. Loveitloveitloveit.
I'm 14, and THAT is the music I listen to. This is the first dressage test I've wacthed from beginning to end without being bored. This is where the sport needs to go for MY generation to get more interested in it.
A side note, I wish this was the dressage at the event I went to this year. We saw some wierd pairs thing with a live singer. And the gelding boths had glitter on. Ick.

I made this one up while I was mucking one day, "I throw m shavings in the air sometimes, singing Ah-ooh, where'd the poo go?" It works with Taio Cruz's 'Dynamite', the 2nd song in the medley.

  6. I posted this on my Facebook page...LOVE the freestyle! The music choice...to be honest - put a HUGE smile on my teenage daughter's face. She even commented "Wow, mom...that makes dressage fun!"

While this wasn't Ashley's best ride...it definately was great for the evening.

  7. I enjoyed the fun and cleverness of this also. While Toto shows perfection, this is more like a Kur for the common man! Yeah, Ashley's ride was less than perfect, but that's what helps us identify with this. From watching Ashley's seat, Pop Art doesn't look like the easiest horse to sit, but seeing her smile just made it more real! Thanks for sharing this.
