Mare requires three handlers!

Bob and I laughed ourselves silly over this video of an Andalusian mare being worked by her three "handlers." Make sure to watch all of it to see one of the handlers go for a bit of a swing...

  1. Wow she is a chunky mare! And what a trot!!

You totally had me going with the three handlers thing. Those JRTs are so cute! I'm glad none of them were hurt. I'd be too afraid of one getting kicked to let them chase her. Sure got a pretty trot out of her though lol.

  3. Yes, what a chunky monkey she is, but a very kind and patient mare not to send those pups to the moon, like my mare would do.....using a few Jackie Chan-like moves. lol!

  4. It is kinda funny, in a terrible sort of way. What a patient mare, and what idiotic dog owners.... Wow. I can't even begin to list all the ways that could have gone terribly terribly wrong.

  5. She's got a lovely temperament! That calm eye and tolerance for the yippie nippers at her toes...

  6. Well, if that were my horses, I think the dogs would be pulp by now. That mare is certainly tolerant.

Floaty trot, but with her head up like that, she hardly ever really reaches under with that hind end. Good example of what an inverted back creates in movement.....then again, maybe the head up is good as she is not focusing on the suicidal pups.

  7. Ha! That was great! NICE chunky mare is right! And her "handlers" are soooo typical of JRT's! LOL. Reminds me of my sister's Jack who use to think grabbing hold of the horses tail and as the horse took off, that being airborne was the coolest thing ever.

Of course, we also used to call that dog "FrankenJack" because of all the times she needed to be stitched together at the vet for her impulsive behaviour.

  8. The whole time I was watching this I was on the edge of my seat. No, not for her gaits - albeit quite lovely - but really for the darn dogs! Yikes!

  9. Hmm, I don't know. I don't think she was scared, but I don't like seeing horses being chased around by dogs, no matter how small. It's never a good thing. Pretty mare though-

  10. The dogs kept her moving, but certainly did not showcase her gaits. She was so tense and high-headed that her trot was short-strided and her canter was a bunny hop at best. I was also very nervous for the dogs. Yikes!

And why did they roach her mane and the upper part of her tail? Perhaps she is a breeding mare and this was for practicality, but the long, flowing locks of the Andalusian is something that I adore and missed terribly in this tolerant mare.
