Totilas kids: The hype is getting to me

I think this is a clever video, fashioned in the style of a movie preview. But it almost overshadows the colt. He's very nice, but like a musical freestyle, the music should fit the horse. In this case, it completely overwhelms the little guy...

  1. Wow! Pretty dramatic for sure, looking forward to the sequel...:-) I would've like to see longer sequences of him moving personally. It's definitally different.

  2. Wow! I really liked that actually! Even if the vids were short. He is a beautiful little guy and what a trot! His name pretty much sounds epic.

  3. I am SO over these annoying dramatic videos that have terrible footage and don't really give you any information. I don't care about that baby horses impact on the world. I want to see it MOVE.

  4. Yep, I'm with you; waaaay to much music for him. He's a beautiful boy to be sure, but I don't think he's quite hit the "majesty" that soundtrack calls for (that and the background; mountains and/or oceans - doofinately ;o)

  5. Good grief! But you have to hand it to Toto for passing down his movement.

  6. Maybe it's all meant in fun??? A bit much for me too and it's so hard to see the expected dramatic movement in a foal...honestly.

As I've said before, only time will tell if these babies live up to all the hype, and Totilas proves to pass on his adored qualities to his babies. I've heard most foals resemble mom more than pop, unless pop is truly prepotent.

  7. That flew over the "clever" and went straight to "tacky and egotistical". :P Cute baby, but no. Plus I find myself annoyed that they put the mare's name up for a split second, the MARE IS IMPORTANT TOO.

  8. I just don't get the Totilas baby hype yet. I'm not his hugest fan as far as his type, though I adore what seems to be his attitude/trainability (of course helped out by being ridden by one of the best riders in the world!) and haven't really seen any babies which make me think of him in the way they go yet. Quaterback babies remind me much more of their sire so far - and it's very early.

Since you're seeing lots about babies... have you seen anything about any of Brentina's foals yet? I haven't, and am wondering how that's going. I'm super curious to find out how her Totilas-baby turns out.

  9. Goooooood grief... a bit much, indeed. I'm sure they'd like to get 150K for that one, too.

Net - I'm with you. Where is Brentina's baby? THAT'S the kiddo I really want to see! Of course, it seems like Debbie and her owners actually have some class and restraint, so maybe he/she will be more quietly introduced. :-)
