My Christmas Dream

You have to watch this entire video (I lost interest and missed "the punchline" at about 1 minute 40 seconds) -- it's fun to watch the buildup and I esp. love the way this little girl is dressed. One of my most vivid dreams was a scenario just like this. I was probably 12 years old, and my gift horse was presented to me at a local 4H facility that was a frequent hangout for me and my friends.  The joy in that dream was just inexpressible, and in my early waking moments I believed it had really happened. If I was bitterly disappointed and sad when I was fully awake (I was) I think I've more than made up for it in my adult years! I still feel some of this kid-like joy when I visit the boys.

  1. I don't want kids, but that movie almost makes me want a little girl so I could give her a pony one day :)

  4. I totally just forwarded that to my husband, I may be 20 years too old for that pony, but, ya know, better late than never ;P

  5. This is the third video I've seen now with the same Christmas gift and a little girl. Each one was simply wonderful!

Thanks so much for adding this one so I could once again live in that dreamworld I longed for as a child.

Still, I go out to the barn each Christmas Eve to say a thank you for each one of my Boys. A dream delayed is still a dream come true.

  7. Oh my gosh - that made me cry! How lovely. I remember the day I paid for my first horse and how good that felt. And 20-some years later drove on a cold, getting-ready-to-snow Sunday morning to pay for my second horse, Keil Bay. I stood in his stall with him for probably half an hour and just listened while he ate his hay, feeling that same incredible joy I felt as a girl.

  10. This was my Christmas ( and birthday, and oh what the hell, throw in an Easter Basket) dream, too. Never came true. So guess what my daughter got for Christmas one year? Turned the odometer over on that pony, now on to horses, while mom and her old tbred keep plugging along.

  12. Love that video! I always wished I would get a pony for Christmas. We are actually keeping a Christmas pony at our place that will be given to my husband's 4 year old cousin this year.
