Living my dream: A Thelwell pony!

I always loved Thelwell ponies. But when you are 5'8" tall in fifth grade, you ain't gonna ride no ponies! On an actual pony my feet would drag the ground, but I recently was given a chance to ride this lovely, lovely horse -- a paint/arab cross -- not a pony, but under 15.2H, and adorably pudgy (his owner calls him "Fatty McButterpants"). He is green but sensitive and sweet. He is green but tolerant. What can I say? I'll be riding him occasionally while his owner nurses a hip issue. Can't believe my good fortune...

  4. I think you look darling on him. He takes up your leg well. But his gaits must feel tiny after riding Riley.

  5. I love this. What a sweet little horse! And, this goes to show that height of horse is not the only factor as far as fit is concerned. His barrel takes up your leg and your light body frame looks very pleasant on him. "Fatty McButterpants" hmm? Haha! Well, we can't all be svelte. :D
