Sir Rockstar Rocks Rolex

Update: I'm giving away two pairs of Rolex socks from JoJo Sox -- go to my Facebook page for info or a) watch the Rocky video and enter a comment proving you watched it (e.g., Libby was wearing an IRH helmet) and your contact info. Also give your shoe size as socks are sized.

The USEF Web site does not allow you to embed video, but I did capture this great screen shot from the must-watch show jumping video of  Libby Head and Sir Rockstar.

In their first time at Rolex, Libby and Rocky rode a clear round in show jumping where experienced competitors had many rails down.  Rocky is a sixteen-year-old 15.1H Thoroughbred gelding by Rockamundo out of How Unusual/Great Sun.  The dressage (video footage here) was nice (love his gaits!),  and their cross-country ride was calm, clear, and super-careful, with a few time faults. This horse really gets some air-time!

In  Eventing Nation's article on the pair described Rocky as neglected (see Eventing Nation's article on the pair) when she purchased him in 2008. Neglect is different from abuse and can mean many things but it's not likely he was a polished product when she got him just a few years ago.

Libby Head and Rocky were my pick for the "Who'dat?" award winners for best rookies of RK3D14 -- Jimmy Wofford didn't make the right call this time!

  1. I loved this pair and didn't think they got enough air time on the USEF XC coverage.

  2. I totally agree! They did post footage on their youtube account, but they gave all the airtime to Allison Springer and Arthur, who (this time around) did not merit the videographer's time. Rocky and Libby really showed'em how it's done...

  6. Amazing pair !! Was so disappointed when USEF gave them no cross country air time just because they came between Allison and Buck, the cross country round is on you tube if you do a search for Libby Head. Way to go!!!

  8. Forgot to tell you I need L socks when I commented on the Facebook post! Love that the first jump was perfect when lots of other horses had trouble with it.

  9. I love the dark horses in the competition! This guy completely proved they both deserved to be there! So neat!

Also, their number was 74, and I wear a size 8.5 shoe if I were to win! heartofhope10@gmail.com
