A yearling? You're kidding: An Ampere son

I don't know the Dutch bloodlines, but there is a stallion named Ampere that has gotten a lot of attention in the last few years. Breeder and semen broker Judy Yancey (Yancey Farms) has a yearling by Ampere that is stunning -- what a leggy, gorgeous boy. What I like about him is that with this build he will likely grow into a modern type, yet look at the powerful movement he's showing, and what a neck! He is for sale.

Love his natural balance. Gorgeous boy.

  3. I must say, I have read your blog for a while now, and my favorite thing is when you post videos of great prospects. I'm usually drooling by the end:)

  6. It might just be me, but I actually find the way he moves very... I'm not sure the word, terrifying?
His hocks turn in so much they almost hit!
Maybe he would have some growing up and training to do for this. He is a lovely horse! But would not be my first pick...

(Sorry for my bad English, I come from Denmark!)

  7. Wow, his gaits all look like they're in slow motion, but they're not. Handsome boy!

  8. Anje, I agree with your assessment about his movement. I am not sure that his "narrow behind" is going to fill out with age, and the handler doesn't stand him up so we can SEE him from behind. But he certainly has lovely ground manners, and a very floaty trot. Let's just hope he isn't backed too soon and made to work harder than his baby bones and joints can handle. Big doesn't mean mature.
