The ego driven impluse to react never really goes away, but when we submit to it, we dull our awareness and risk missing something good in life. I don't know a polite way to say this, but she sounds exactly like what I expected - someone with a poor life who overcompensates by becoming a little crazy. Fifteen cats is too many for one person to socialize and care for properly, and if she truly loved them, she would know that. You're doing yourself a disservice by comparing yourself to her. You don't have umpteen horses.Allienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-24223769243254564932011-09-20T20:29:58.989-04:002011-09-20T20:29:58.989-04:00Great post, thank you!Great post, thank you!TBAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06791705770758173580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-84478353259008204782011-09-20T19:43:01.026-04:002011-09-20T19:43:01.026-04:00What a great post! Rescue people see so much ugliness, bad treatment and poor judgement when it comes to pets that they often acquire a tendency to be a bit snippy and defensive when a potential adopter asks after one of their charges. The truth is, they just want the best home for the kitty and don't want to see anything bad happen to him. I'm glad you were able to see that, and Sparklehttp://www.sparklecat.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-90956249014788031872011-09-20T19:06:26.943-04:002011-09-20T19:06:26.943-04:00Well said.Well said.Bakersfield Dressagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05571487914424695283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-41394885884310654512011-09-20T18:40:19.793-04:002011-09-20T18:40:19.793-04:00Beautifully said.Beautifully said.Daisyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00412703583921658038noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-77457097046589892592011-09-20T16:47:47.428-04:002011-09-20T16:47:47.428-04:00This was a really good and thoughtful story. I heard one time that the things that often bug us about other people are usually things we don't like in ourselves! Don't think that necessarily applies here, but I respect you so much for offering this for public consumption.
