I had surgical insurance...Ooh, that looks familiar. I had surgical insurance on my horse. The premium was fairly low back then...under $200, as I recall. We had a surgery and the insurance company paid to a tune of about $400. The next year, I got my bill for the new premium--$400+ dollars. So all it turned out to be was a delayed payment for the vet bill. I gave up after that.
