I would love to see him perform as an older horse because I wondr how his natural movement will translate under training....

kitty bo, what do you mean re: basenjis? Of course as much as I like the big moving stallions, sometimes it worries me that people seem to be more concerned wih breeding to these ones than to the ones who hare proven performers/producers for the upper levels. What a beautiful stallion. Yes, the movement is extraordinary for a horse of his age but I would think that was only his natural abilities amplified for the exhibition.

During schooling I'm sure that his handlers are careful to not overuse such gifts. Just as you or I wouldn't demand show level movements or performance SolitaireMarehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05573053727692879169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-17637355550880883382008-05-23T11:13:00.000-04:002008-05-23T11:13:00.000-04:00I am just blown away! Hopefully he'll stay sound.

I have heard dressage trainers reprimand riders of big-moving horses, telling them not to let the trot get too passagey. Their gait became exagerated. Somewhere in the back of my head, I remember some old dressage guru talking about that it is unfortunate that the trot is getting so passagey. I may be alone in this, but to me, this isn't a pure Kitty Bohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11993868991117800584noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-13997133618495465252008-05-23T08:19:00.000-04:002008-05-23T08:19:00.000-04:00They seem to be sold very quickly - small wonder. ...They seem to be sold very quickly - small wonder. It sure looks like QB is passing on movement. On a superficial note I'm glad he's a chestnut! This passion for a black horse is going to backfire when they're all competing in dressage together -- people will want a chestnut so they can stand out!

Signed,
A chestnut ownerStacey Kimmel-Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08498926535389535263noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6317822193674196694.post-33105135089085591142008-05-23T07:59:00.000-04:002008-05-23T07:59:00.000-04:00Quarterback is a beautiful, talented well trained ...Quarterback is a beautiful, talented well trained horse.
