Craigslist: Where hope springs eternal...

If it were Bucks County, I'd be concerned that Harv had posted this anonymously. Looks like someone is trying to fund their horse habit.

Hey, maybe I should post to Craigslist for Riley:
Muscular redhead gelding available as a personal trainer specializing in resistance training (hoof bandaging) and a new extreme sport (layup handwalking). $100 a month, $125 includes organic powerlifting (a.k.a. mucking).

  1. Too funny!
$75.00 a month to not ride? Ha! Good luck with that...

  2. Wow. That's hilarious. Want to pay me to take care of my horse for me?

  3. Interesting approach. I figure when I need someone to take care of my horses, I'll have to pay THEM, not the other way around.

Doesn't quite sound like a lease, does it.

  4. I remember the extreme sport of hand-walking - I played it for a while - almost 6 months - and as I remember it involved a lot of 4-feet-off-the-ground even with drugs to help!

  5. You live in Bucks County! Now I am even more jealous at how little you pay for board! If my horse was not so happy I would be moving across the river!

  6. No, I live in Lehigh County in a crappy half-twin with mullet-wearing neighbors. My HORSE gets the desirable location and the fancy schmancy dwelling.

  7. lol, I wonder if anyone would take me up on an ad like that. Exercise program with lifting, weight training, shoveling, and running, includes bucking hay and mucking stalls, as well as, chasing horses at liberty. Better than the gym because you can get a daily dose of vitamin D directly from the sun. Discount rates of $50 a month?

  9. Haha. Reminds me of the ones like this "Horse for lease. Really sweet colt. Never studdy. He loves being brushed. So cuddly. Will be great show or trail. Not started yet. But he's so cute I know it'll be easy. $200 /month."

Something like that + spelling mistakes. I'm going on memory here. But I've seen a few of them. Fancy earning $200/m while some one else trains your horse? And here I must be an idiot because I pay trainers.

  10. Hmmm It sounds like Harv and Sonny Bunz are in cahoots here, and testing out their ad on Other Horses. Think they will get any takers?

Rubs to Riley- sure hope he is settling in well and healing up well!

  11. I hear you Stacey, my horses always live in a better zip code than I do.

  12. They might as well just say "Come take care of my horse and pay me while you're at it."

    Too funny.
