Heather Blitz and Mary Wanless (and Paragon!)

The videos of Heather Blitz and her horse Paragon ( posted to the blog earlier) have been removed from Youtube [update: videos can be found on the HB Website]. There is new footage on Youtube, though. Heather Blitz works regularly with Mary Wanless, and here is a video of her in a Wanless clinic on Paragon. The TV was on when I was viewing this (Bob watching Modern Marvels), and I couldn't quite make out what the clinician is saying or what they are working on. Will try again later tonight, when it's just me and the cats at home...

  1. He looks so soft and elegant. Wonder how that trot feels to ride. It really does not look jarring even though it has so much suspension and impulsion. No wonder you like him so much. *S*

  2. Heather Blitz is coming here in May for a clinic. Should I try to get a spot with her? (For some reason I feel like you either like her a lot or dislike her...????)

  3. Oh, my, I'm a fan of Heather and her horse. My only frustration is that the videos seem to come and go, and I'd rather they stay on Youtube. Sorry if the post seemed ambiguous.

I should also mention that what I hear of her has more to do with her ability as a rider. I have not seen footage of her training other riders. But if she were clinic-ing near me, and I had a horse, I'd definitely ride in it if I could.

  5. You can tell that she's Heather is really trying to put exactly what Mary is saying into practice at that exact moment. I hate when riders at clinics are so passive during their rides. This is your chance! Do it!

I like Heather's riding style very much. I would love to audit a clinic with her. (sadly, I don't have the ability or the horse!)

  6. Oh my god... I wish my horse had a trot like that. Look at the spring, it's like he's levitating! I'm going to watch again and keep drooling.

  9. Mary Wanless is a person who really thinks outside the box. Her demo's and clinics are excellent. Well worth it for both riders and trainers. I have seen her a couple of times and can highly recommend getting to see her teach and train any time you can.
