Something's gotta give

And in this time of Riley-forever-maintenance, what gives is the any semblance of organization in my life. Witness the interior of my 2008 Toyota Yaris hatchback...

Those of you who have been with me since the inception of my blog know that this is hardly a new problem. But now it's worse, and it's in my brand new car.

  1. Ah, yes, that looks all too familiar. At least your intent was good, with the "box to organize things." And of course, the ever present dirty shoe holder with dirty shoes neatly stacked beside it. *lol*

I have always admired people with impeccably organized tack rooms, etc. I've never quite managed myself. My car was a rolling tack room when I boarded out too, so my sympathy. I'm right there with you.

  2. Too funny! I thought I bought a Mercury Mariner so I would have 4 wheel drive for my incredibly long driveway at our new farm. Now I have learned it was really to haul all of my horse stuff around. When I have the seats down it is amazing how much I can cram in it when a trip to Tractor Supply is called for!

  4. That means it's time to get a new car. That always works for me.

  5. Yes! All too familiar! I especially love the "container for getting organized" I have the same one in the back of my Explorer.

  6. I can fit SIXTEEN bags of shavings in my new car.

Or a whole lot of dirty horse stuff, extra riding clothes, show boots, spare socks, clean polos ...

  7. LOL. My trunk! You have my trunk!

Hopefully when we get the lock fixed to our horse trailer I can leave some things in there.

Then my trunk can be filled with just kid related "tack." :)

  8. Since all of our horses are in the "backyard" (acreage behind the house), I can honestly say that none of that stuff is in my car. Nosireee, my car is nice and clean....
...because that stuff is in my house :o)

  9. Oh Stacey! That was my favorite blog of all time, from your original one that, I believe, pointed out shavings and hay debris . . . I truly laughed out loud. I was there when I boarded too, and my vehicle interior mats are still, always muddy. The back of my vehicle is now used to carry several different kinds of feed, etc. Very funny! :) Becky

  10. I struggle with the same thing. Sometimes I get motivated and clean out my car, but there is always a perma-stench of horsiness....it's a dead give-away every time.

  11. I won't lie. Your car looks like my car.

  12. Lol! Can't feel sorry for you - know what my car looks like? Take everything in your car, add a 100 lb dog, and stuff it all into a Honda Accord.

  13. Your car looks fine to me. I drive a Camaro. When you lower the back seat it's incredibly spacious. It looks like I am a homeless person with my worldy goods inside plus sacks of animal feed on top. I live on a farm so I don't even need to haul things back and forth. Twice a year I clean it out, put in a couple empty containers for "organizing" and they quickly overflow.

  14. About a month ago, I cleaned my car out. It was the first time I'd actually been able to see the back seat since I got my own horse a year ago...

The seat has since disappeared again. I'm sure it's just a handy shelf for horse stuff, not really meant for people to sit on.
