Heather Blitz and Paragon, Devon 2010

Here is their first ride, which scored in the low 70s for a first place in Prix St. Georges.  Did you notice the helmet [jumps excitedly]? I ran after her after she exited the ring after this ride, and got to hear her comments, directed at someone she knew at ringside, not me. Heather's remarks: "He felt really electric! I think the weights of my tails were hitting him on the back, and that gave him something extra."

This video is better quality but sometimes the playback is jerky. If you have problems, here's the Youtube.com link to this video.

  1. Fourth level??? Lovely test, really. Paragon has some really nice gaits. I can see why you are enamored. Looks to me like he could stand up well to some of the horses I saw on the videos from the WEG.

This is definitely a quality horse, and nicely trained too.

  2. Wow, what a great ride. I really like how soft and in-stride the changes were--looked effortless.

His way of going reminds me a bit of a more developed Riley--both horses have that serene, light-footed quality.

    Thanks for posting this.

  3. Good to see helmets making their way in the dressage ring! It's only a matter of time I think.

  4. Yeah! A genuinely trained and devloped horse versus a freak doing circus tricks. And I love the helmet!
