Carrying The Hands

My hands are all over the place -- but watching other riders, I see that a lot of people struggle with this. Here's some good advice on carrying the hands...

  1. One lesson tip I have never forgotten: Instructor told me to imagine a box a few inches above the horses withers. That's where you place your hands and keep them there. Naturally, you have to follow the horse's head to keep your hands in that imaginary box. It worked for me! I think I have pretty good hands.
