Red Kitka's views on Monday

At the end of the day, I know when Bob is almost home because Red Kitka gallops through the house and into the living room, where he leaps to the front window to watch for Bob's approach. You'd think Elvis himself is about to stroll through our front door. Red Kitka is living proof that animals miss us and think about us when we're gone.

I snapped this picture tonight (Sunday night). On Sunday nights, Red Kitty seems pretty bummed out. I think he knows Bob will be gone tomorrow, and misses him already.

So I hold the red kitty and sing to him (talk about insult to injury):

Monday Monday, can't trust that day,
Monday Monday, it means my daddy goes away
Oh Monday morning's alarm clock is warning of what is to be
Oh daddy daddy, how could you leave and not take me?

  1. My husband swears that about 80% of the time our cat Bond hears me drive into the apartment complex. When the Bond Alarm has gone off, my husband opens the door as I get to the top of the steps. :)

I have a request for a future post, maybe? Do you know of any exercises that would help riders get that core flexibility and leg strength we all need?

  2. Cute! And here I thought I was the only one who made up parody songs for the cats! I'm glad I'm not alone. *S*

I think my favorite to date is one I made up for my kitten Puff. Not cutesy name, he and his brothers (Charlis, Onyx and Smaug) were named for dragons.

    Puff the magic kitten
    so sweet and carefree
    frolics on the office floor
    and plays with Christel's feet...

  3. People who do not own pets tend to underestimate their awareness of the so many things. Cats are so very perceptive.

You were "mean" to sing to Red Kitka like that. No go and apologize. *G*

I have a new great cat toy called Undercover Mouse. It's a bit pricy, but so far it has actually entertained my kitties for four days--a record for some very smart kitties who need regular entertainment. You can find it on the Internet.

    Here's a video:

Maybe something like that could keep RK happy while Bob's away.

  4. I love cat stories like this. They remind me of when I was child and out cat would sit on the gatepost at the time we were due home from school. My mum used to say she knew when we were coming as he would pick us out from the hordes of children walking up the road, and jump down to come and meet us. Gosh that was a very long time ago.

  5. Ah, I love your song Christel! We have several songs for the cats and for Harv and Riley.

Funder, that's a good idea. I do give one exercise in the posting but if you've seen my sitting trot you know I need to find more exercises anyway :-).

Jean, Bob typically spares no expense on the cats. No wonder they love him.

  6. Ah, cute kitty. I used to think my pets missed me, but really they were just hungry. lol. Animals are so much more perceptive than most people give them credit for.

Great idea on the exercise post...I have a link to share - - this lady is local to me and has some info on exercises in her news section

  7. Oh - found a couple more articles that you can request from the same web site that I posted before....

  8. Red Kitka is beautiful!
Our Else is definaltely of the ilk that after dark we NEED to sit down..she goes to the couch and calls to us:
    Meow~ Me needs,
    Meow~ Your Lap
    Meow~ NOW!
    Loved Red's Song!

  9. Look at all the love on that sweet kitty face...:) adorable.
