Fluffy: A show jumper

A Facebook friend shared this Youtube link a few days ago. I know some of you have seen it but what a hoot! I have to wonder what motivates this little fluffball, who doesn't look like a high energy kind of feline

  1. I was wondering what the motivation was too. There doesn't seem to be a treat at the end, and the cat doesn't "run out" when there are easy escape routes. It would be great exercise for my felines. I'd really like to know how to train for it.

IT had me laughing and I was quite impressed with the combinations and the height at the end. Can you imagine a horse with that jumping ability?

  2. I can't decide which I love more: a) the fact that this cat so gamely jumps these gymnastics; b) the fact that this girl has set up these elaborate gymnastics; or c) the fact that this girl HAS ALL THIS EQUIPMENT. I wish our jump standards at the barn were this nice!

  3. I know I'm like Mrs Link Lady at the moment, but how about showjumping BUNNIES: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cNPOdffkkLo

  6. I know bunnies that are trained to do agility courses but I've never heard of a cat doing this sort of thing!

  7. I wonder how long it took to get the distances set correctly? Bet that's not a measurement you can find in a book....

  8. The cat makes it look so easy! I love the ground poles...too funny!

  9. We kitties are actually very good jumpers! In fact, the average housecat can jump five times her own height. That this cat was doing it on command is what is so impressive!

  10. Oh my god. I have to try to train my cat to do that! She's very high energy and can jump incredibly high, so maybe I have a shot! I am seriously envious of that girl's jump equipment. I would have killed for that for my Breyers when I was younger.

  11. Stacy,
The CFA actually sponsors classes in cat agility! The owner and cat are in an enclosed mesh "room" and they preform many of the same maneuvers as the canines do.

  12. Jess and Sarah, I'm with you - WHERE did she get those awesome jumps??? My poor Breyers had to make do just with the upended books. I would totally have trained my guinea pig to do this if I'd had the jumps, too. In fact, I have two piggies now... so might still be interested! ;-)
