Win a bottle of Show Sheen! (Courtesy of Absorbine)

Back when we were at Hasslers for the Linda Zang clinic, I wanted Riley to look fabulous. He was nicely braided, his tail was pulled, hooves shined, and I wanted his coat to glisten. About the third time I reached for the ShowSheen,tm my trainer grabbed the bottle out of my hand. "No more Show Sheen." She was right. He was sleek as an otter. None of our video footage does him justice, as the ring lighting didn't capture his luster.

Absorbine has recently released a new version of Showsheentm that works like hair spray, providing continuous spray from any direction. This is something that I think helps to coat uniformly and reduce the chance of overapplication. You can watch a video about how it works on Youtube.
Wanna win a bottle?
Absorbine has graciously offered five bottles of the new Showsheentm to BTB readers. They let me design the contest to select the recipients, and here is my idea.

To enter the contest, leave a comment on this blog post (sign it so I can identify you!) and do one of these three things:
  • Finish the sentence ShowSheentm makes my horses coat so bright___________
  • Finish the sentence My horse needs help in the shine department because_______
  • Write a haiku poem about ShowSheentm (poem form is 5/7/5 syllables)
  • Ex. Riley glistens with / The light from a thousand suns / "That's enough ShowSheen."
There will be FIVE winners announced April 12.
Criteria for judging? Originality/uniqueness, cleverness, endorsements from other commenters.

  1. My horse needs help in the shine department because the mud she coats herself with doesn't shine half as much as the Show Sheen I want to coat her with.

  2. My horse needs help in the shine department because...we are entering our first show on April
    23rd.

I need Show Sheen Spray because I want her to shine so bright that the judge is blinded and misses any issues that might arise during our Intro Test B.

Issues like - prematurely exiting the dressage ring - running thru the test instead of walk / trot - flying bucks, kicks, or rears - calling loudly to her buddy back in his stall.

Show Sheen may not help with any of the above issues, but it would make her black and white coat look awesome and blue ribbon perfect!

  3. ShowSheentm makes my horses coat so bright I could grow daisies in his stall. Who needs the sun?

My horse needs help in the shine department because, as a grey, he is obligated to lie in copious amounts of poo, which render his coat a dull sort of greenish brown color, and it then needs help to look nice.

    My Haiku:

    O big fat grey horse
    lying in steaming manure
    Showsheen will fix it

  4. My horse needs help in the shine department because she is black and collects dust like a high-tech dust mop. And I love how full and silky Show Sheen makes her tail.

  5. ShowSheentm makes my horses coat so bright, the judge has to wear sunglasses B-)
My horse needs help in the shine department because she doesn't like coat supplements, and has an intense fear of water- so bathing is rare, and difficult to do before every show.

    Mohegan shines bright
Like a beacon, or the sun...
    Still need more show sheen!

Theres my rather lame rushed attempt :P

  14. ShowSheen makes my horse's coat so bright that people think Charlie Sheen is named after it.

That was bad, but that's the best I got right now ;)

-Breanna (and Greta Golightly and her slick, shining coat)

  15. ShowSheen makes my horses coat so bright that hopefully she will look good, even if I look like I just rolled out of the hay loft (or the manure pile on my bad days).

My horse needs help in the shine department because she is a grey, and therefore has a love affair will all things dirty, dusty, muddy, and generally icky.

    Sheen! Now my horse looks
    The princess she always acts
    Though I know better.

    to score 60s in dressage
    Tia must radiate

I'm attempting 2nd level tests in less than two weeks, and my mare's trace clip is still highly visible, not matter how much i groom her. maybe extra Show Sheen will hide the lines!

Need hair to shine and sparkle.
    Don't forget the dogs!

  22. My horse needs help in the shine department because he thinks he is a chinchilla with his dust baths, the dusty matte finish is hard to get out even after a bath.

  23. My horse needs help in the shine department because he's coming off a year and a half of being lame and recovering from rain rot and starvation. His coat looks like a cheap plush toy.

He's doing so much better but I think show sheen would give him a great confidence booster;)

  24. ShowSheen makes my horses coat so bright that she looks like a prized dressage pony, even if I look like I just rolled out of the hay loft (or the manure pile on my bad days).

  32. Do I get bonus points if I do all three?!

    1. ShowSheentm makes my horses coat so bright that when she admires her reflection in the mirror, she's really admiring the mirrors reflection in her coat.

    2. My horse needs help in the shine department because what self respecting princess mare doesn't love to be the shiniest horse on the whole farm? If the sun's not jealous, it's not good enough.

    3. Lucy admires
    The sparkle and sheen
    That is some good stuff

  33. Here goes!

    Inexperienced,

  36. Showsheen makes my horses coat to bright, the sun is put to shame!

And my horse needs help in the shine department because all the dark specks on his fleabitten grey coat puts a damper on the light grey. This being his first show season, Blu needs quite a bit of help showing off his pretty hiney!
