Giveaway! Redmond rocks

Update: The Pinklette earring Giveaway has concluded and the winner is Katie -- hoping she'll send a photo for me to share with you!

My Redmond Rock on a rope was an early Christmas present to Harv -- I've always loved the Redmond Rocks (they have been at Rolex before) but now that they have them on a rope, folks who like the salt-lick-on-a-rope have a new option. I've got a new favorite brand of salt rock, and it's a U.S. company with a U.S. mined nad manufactured product.

For those of you who put salt in the feed, Redmond also has salt-as-a-supplement -- and I'm giving away two containers and one Rock-on-a-rope, courtesy of Redmond.

To enter leave a comment (with some way for me to contact you if you win) describing what "substance lick" you personally would like to have available in the workplace or at home. Prozac? Jolly Rancher? Chocolate? Tootsie Roll? You name it!

I personally would want a Swedish Fish or Mason Dots lick installed by my desk.

Have fun.

  1. I would love to try this for my new horse who's arriving the first of the year!

For me, a coffee hard candy lick would do the trick.

  2. I think a chia tea lick would work for me.

  3. My "drug" of choice are gummy bears, specifically the orangey-yellow Haribo ones. THEY ARE SO GOOD. I would love a Haribo Gummy Bear lick! lol.

  4. Cool! Not sure if Canadian entries are allowed...in the event that is ok, I would like a coffee lick installed at work! I don't drink coffee, but in lick format it might be ok. :-p

  5. Oh gosh, would I kill for a Junior Mint lick...but then no one would probably ever see me again because I would never want to leave it. (starkeycarly@gmail.com)

  6. Mmmmm... a (very) dark chocolate lick please - thanks!

Thinking the loose version would work best here - it's so humid that salt licks just disintegrate. :D

  7. Redmond on a rope sounds fun! I have fed the salt in my horse's feed and he loved it.

I want a dark chocolate lick. Don't waste my time with the milk stuff. I would definitely be one of those horses who bites off chunks and eats them. That dark chocolate would not last long in my stall!

  11. I'd settle for a plain old salt lick set up next to my computer. I love salt, and yes, I've licked my horse's salt lick before!

No, the salt lick wasn't used. And I had a good reason for it! She didn't understand salt licks (I mean, was pretty much inexplicably terrified of them), so I was trying to train by demonstration. Let me tell you... IT DOESN'T WORK.

Berta still doesn't understand salt licks, and has free-choice salt in a bucket instead. The salt lick has gone ignored.

Maybe I would have been better off just installing the salt lick at my desk...

  13. If there was a chocolate mint lick, I probably wouldn't fit through the door. Wow.

I have tried to redmond stuff, and it's quite good.

  14. I find Christmas a very stressful time of the year, and I tend to get "moody" through winter. My husband would suggest I need a Vitamin D lick to me and everyone around me happy.

  15. a white cheddar cheese nip lick, and a pear lick. I chow down on a pear a day at my work.

  16. Actually, I would be perfectly happy for my own salt lick. I LOVE salt!

  17. I would definitely want a peppermint lick! And the rock-on-a-rope would be well used for my new fixer-upper mare from the track! (moonstonefarm@live.com)

  18. Well, a Good & Plenty lick would be awesome. Even the colors would brighten up my workspace and it would clash ever so nicely with my mini Coca Cola bright red fridge!! Asfor my beasties, they'd like to try the lick on a rope!

  20. When we were kids, a visit to the dr office would always earn us a chance to reach into the "treat" drawer and grap a handful of "Dum-Dum" lollipops. Cherry ones were my favorite! Would love to duplicate that flavor on a rock-on-a-rope!

  21. My secret love is garlic salt. Or super dark chocolate. Or maybe a combination of the two? Hmmmm

  22. I have two that would entice me to stay at my desk, a dark chocolate salted carmel and a twix on a rope. Yum, both would keep me happy. And this is a very local reference, but Stacey would know, FROZEN CUSTARD. omg---Leslie

  25. Gosh, I'm easy to please: Butterfingers lick, Little Debbie's Streussel Cakes lick, chocolate of ANY type lick (though Godiva would be particularly welcome), and original Lay's potato chips. Actually, all of them would work and I could go from station to station (some days are like that ;o) horsesndogs@verizon.net -- and thanking you in advance ;oD

  26. It would have to be a mocha iced coffee lick, ideally with 10x the caffeine so a few licks would wake me up for the day but not add to the caloric bottom line. :)

  27. I'd need a salted caramel lick, for sure! (jlclaw@ufl.edu)

  28. Not sure how it would taste in lick form, but baked Brie with carmelized onions is pretty much my fave food ever. If that didn't turn out well, I would settle for a Ben & Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk flavor--yum!

  29. How about a Snickers or red licorice lick?

  30. My horses love redmond rocks!!! They go crazy as soon as they get them. Bre has always loved salt but these are like candy to her. The rope version is great for my mouthy baby. He goes to town licking it and playing with it. Even if you don't win the giveaway you need ot go get one!!!

  31. Hah, i just read the rules. I was so excited that other people use this rock that I didn't really pay attention to the giveway rules. If I had a lick it would be a coffee lick to get me through my long graveyard shifts.
